Inserting SCTE 35 Markers

How do I insert SCTE 35 marker into my playlist?

SCTE-35 markers indicate where downstream systems can insert other content (advertisements or local programs). You can include SCTE-35 markers in the transport stream

to insert SCTE-35 markers in your playlist, you must first ensure SCTE-35 markers are enabled on your channel

please get in touch with Evrideo support or your account manager to make sure SCTE 35 markers are enabled on your channel

SCTE 35 markers are content-dependent, meaning the SCTE 35 marker will play for the entire item duration.

To apply an SCTE-35 marker on an item, Hover over the desired file (in the MAM) with the mouse and click on the icon to go to the file Edit Section.

On the General tab, go to the "TAGS" field, add the TAG "SCTE," and click enter.

You will see the "SCTE" TAG added below the "TAGS" field.

Once done, click "SAVE."

Now once the Item is scheduled, the SCTE 35 marker can be seen on the scheduler itself in 2 ways:

  • The Icon on the "SEC EVENTS" column will be colored in black

  • Clicking the icon on the scheduled Item will display all secondary events currently scheduled, including SCTE 35 markers

If you performed the tagging action but still cannot see the SCTE 35 marker scheduled on the playlist, then please get in touch with the Evrideo Support team or your account manager to ensure SCTE 35 markers are enabled on your channel.
